PODCASTS I LIKE!

I listen to A LOT of podcasts! Here are some of my favorite individual podcasts, and networks of podcasts.

Abnormal Mapping

Abnormal Mapping Podcast Network

The Abnormal Mapping Podcast Network is an umbrella that contains a bunch of my favorite podcasts. Abnormal Mapping is a monthly game club podcast and is one of my favorite places for video game critique and discussion on the internet. Leftist Reading features audiobook style recitations of various Leftist works with some light but insightful commentary. Around the Long Fire is ostensibly a podcast about reading Icelandic Sagas, but is often a podcast where two queer people in their thirties process their lives week to week.

Additionally, there are several podcasts for Patreon subscribers, including their most famous podcast The Great Gundam Project where Em and Jackson have been watching through all of Gundam every week for years now. I was a guest on episode 224! (I got nervous and kinda quiet though)

Export Audio

Export Audio Podcast Network

Export Audio is another network with a deep backlog of podcasts about all sorts of different things. I'm famously not a movie person, but Ornate Stairwells is 100% the best movie podcast and well worth checking out. Ghost Divers is an anime podcast that goes incredibly deep on the works that they cover. Pondering Pootan is a 30 minute a week treatise on the manga series Cromartie High School, and is my absolute favorite podcast of all time.

Many and most of Export Audio's podcasts are available for free, but bonus pods and early pods are available on their Patreon.

Scanline Media

Scanline Media Podcast Network

Scanline Media puts out so many podcasts dude. It's a sight to see. I'm particularly fond of Mechanista in G, where every week Six and Dylan discuss mecha design in a way that hits my brain the way I assume Car Talk does for car people. In that vein I'm also fond of Battle Crow, the non-Dota offshoot of the more well-known Dota podcast Bottle Crow Reborn. Confusing right?

Scanline Media has such an exhaustive backlog of podcasts that I recommend subscribing their Patreon and then searching their subscriber feed. I find cool new stuff in there all the time.

Audio Entropy

Audio Entropy Podcast Network

Truth be told the only Audio Entropy podcast I've listened to with any regularity is Totally Reprise. Originally started as a watchalong pod for Totally Spies, the crew finished that and moved on to cover a zillion other shows, games, and books. Their Twin Peaks season is hands down the best Twin Peaks podcast on the internet.

Audio Entropy also hosts a Zelda podcast called Book of Mudora that I have queued up but am scared to listen to.

Clash of the Type-Ins

Clash of the Type-Ins

My friends Ryan and Jenni have been playing Interactive Fiction text adventure games over the internet together for a long time now! If you find text adventures intimidating this is a really fun way to experience them.

Do You Remember Robotech?

Do You Remember Robotech?

Shane and Manny have the unenviable task of watching the entirety of bad American show Robotech, as well as the good original anime shows that it adapts. Hang in there Manny!

Level With You

Level With You

Liam and Austin played a whole bunch of World of Warcraft Classic and talked about that experience. And Marvel Snap. I sent a bunch of quizzes to them, maybe I should put those on this page too.

The Prisoner's Dilemma

The Prisoner's Dilemma

The Prisoner is one of the best television shows of all time, and if you want a deep dive into the history and production of the show I highly recommend this podcast.

Friend Jmac has this experimental micropodcast thing about how much he likes the Steamdeck. It's really cool!
